Ethylene Plant Technology - Energy Consumption and Optimization
Thursday, April 30, 2009 - 9:00am to 9:25am
Modern ethylene plants are designed to be highly energy efficient. However, fouling and even corrosion of equipment can reduce plant efficiency. This paper will discuss the impact of fouling and corrosion on the efficiency of plant systems.
An extensive list of fouling and corrosion impacts, costs and mitigation techniques will be presented and discussed. Certain key systems will be discussed in more detail, including furnaces/TLEs, the dilution steam system, and the charge gas compressor.
