(26g) DEA Treater Revamp Targets Foaming

A DEA treater processing RCCU dry gas experienced infrequent but unpredictable loading events that negatively affected treating efficiency and capacity. A root cause analysis identified several equipment and operational aspects that could be improved. This paper will describe the equipment improvements that were implemented, including improved knock-out facilities, column internals and other design practices. The changes have proved to be effective with no significant loading events since startup. Performance of the tower before and after the revamp will be compared.
