Reduction in chloride emissions is a high priority for refineries. Efforts to remove chlorides from gasoline product streams are primarily driven by corrosion problems in process equipment and the need to meet new environmental regulations regarding chloride emissions.
The presentation will focus on technology aimed at reducing the chloride emissions in vent gas of CCR Platforming process units, which is the main process for gasoline production. The scope of this paper will include chloride removal process technology, principles of chloride recovery and equipment requirements for the removal of chloride from gasoline process streams.
