Young Professionals Managing Seniors: Challenges and Opportunities

In addition to the challenges of younger engineers managing senior team members, an interesting subset of this issue is the challenge of younger women engineers managing senior male engineers. In addition to the age difference, the dynamics of women managing men comes into play as well. This paper will explore the dynamics of this interaction.
Key differences in male/female brain structure and function will be highlighted, citing recent research findings in Biology, Psychology and Sociology. Common ?cultural' problems encountered in the workplace will then be seen in a new perspective.
