Shortcourse S8: Facility Siting for Process Safety
Sunday, March 21, 2010 - 8:00am to 8:25am
Course Description: This one-day course is designed to give the student an understanding of the concepts of and reasons for ?siting? considerations in process safety and to teach the basic fundamentals of ?siting? using the most recent version of API RP-752 as the guidance and reference document. The course content addresses the process safety requirements of OSHA PSM and EPA RMP using examples, case histories, and available literature.
This course will give attendees an understanding of the scope, necessary requirements, implementation issues, and ways to meet them in order to conduct an appropriate ?siting? study that complements their process safety program. Components of the ?siting? study are discussed in detail and flow diagrams and examples are used to demonstrate the flow of the analysis process. Attendees will leave with an understanding of the requirements that their respective facilities will need to meet in order to have and maintain an effective ?siting? program and, guidance and examples on how to meet those requirements.
Workshops and examples will be used so that the students will have an opportunity to see and/or practice use of the tools and training provided.
Audience: The course is aimed at the process safety professional that has program development and implementation responsibilities. Design engineers and risk professionals will also benefit from an understanding of the ?siting? requirement concepts and their relationship to process safety.
Price: $600
