This is a panel session that will focus on current heat transfer-related processes and their challenges. Panel: Use of margins in heat exchanger design The purpose of this panel is to share experiences in the practical use of margins when designing heat exchangers for the process industry. Some of the questions to be addressed by the panel include a) how do you approach heat exchanger design? b) what factors is the design margin meant to account for? c) what do you use for an exchanger design margin? d) how often or for what general cases do you apply a design margin when designing/specifying heat exchangers? e) do you use different design margins for different types of exchangers and services?
