(104b) Chemical NEP Inspection Preparation

On July 27, 2009, OSHA issued a National Emphasis Program for the chemical industry (?the Chemical NEP?). Pursuant to the Chemical NEP, OSHA has been and will be conducting PSM inspections of numerous chemical facilities. This presentation will review lessons learned from OSHA's Refining and Chemical NEPs, particularly elements/sub-elements/specifics of the OSHA citations, its interpretations of the PSM Standard and its aggressive use of industry standards. This information will assist you in being better prepared for a Chemical NEP inspection and in making your facility safer.
