Handling high FFA waste trap grease and other multiple characteristic feedstocks requires design and application detail that differs from standard clean fluid applications. Using supercritical technology to convert and vacuum distillation to refine the material into ASTM 6751 specification biodiesel presents challenges to instrument applications. We will review the flow, pressure, level and temperature instrument applications throughout the supercritical biodiesel process.
