Chiyoda CO2 reforming catalyst can generate synthesis gases by CO2 and H2O reforming under lower H2O/Carbon and CO2/Carbon ratios in feed gas conditions. Therefore, this catalyst produces synthesis gases with valuable H2/CO ratios more efficiently. The commercial size CO2 reforming catalyst has been demonstrated its activity and stability in the GTL demonstration plant tests in Japan. Furthermore, the feasibility study on applying Chiyoda CO2 Reforming to existing methanol plant has been conducted. The results show that around from 10 to 20 % of increased production for methanol can be expected by replacing conventional steam reforming catalyst in the existing methanol plant to our CO2 reforming catalyst. This increased methanol is effectively utilized for the production of acetic acid and MMA with additional production of carbon monoxide by CO2 reformer.
