machinery?. Do they depend too much on the alarm notification of the
abnormal condition which may be too late to react? Every operation
unit needs to have a Basic Care based management system which includes
operator walkabouts, management interaction, spare parts and stewardship
reports. In this paper, the authors discuss the basic frame work of a
Basic Care management system and highlight the roles of machinery
engineers, operators, technicians and managers.
