Combustible Dust Hazards, Research and Implementation 2
Tuesday, April 3, 2012 - 4:00pm to 4:30pm
NFPA Standards 61 (Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities), 484 (Combustible Metals), 654 (Combustible Particulate Solids), and 664 (Wood and Cellulosic Materials) are widely used to identify and mitigate the fire and explosion hazards of combustible dusts. Additionally, NFPA Standards 68 (Explosion Venting), 69 (Explosion Prevention and Protection), and 499 (Electrical Classification) are frequently used to manage combustible dust hazards.
The new edition of these standards either has been recently published or will soon be published. Presented by an independent expert member of the responsible committees, this paper will highlight significant changes to these standards and discuss some of the common pitfalls.
