Social Tasks
The performance of everyday tasks in society seeks to satisfy security, comfort, social, and economic utilities. People are moved to perform certain simple or complex tasks to be useful in the social machine. Thus, the ultimate reward for achieving the goals of the task is to contribute positively to the functioning of society. Doubt and anxiety are natural feelings when you do not know how to do and if this accomplishment will move the process state to meet demands of society.
Decision
All decision making takes psychs energy which involves the activation of the decision model and the imaginary construction to assess the impacts of the task. So, there are important characteristics to be analyzed: the reason or usefulness of the task, the weight of the alternatives, the recovery of memory, association facilities, possibilities of creating new concepts, the dominance of alternatives, the clarity of the images of future action, assertiveness of choice, and breaking the inertia of the imagination into action.
Habituation and energy expenditure
The repetition of certain tasks allows the reduction of energy expenditure by not spending so much psychic energy to imaginary action and the assessment of action impact. Another energy saved by repetition is the physical energy to carry out motor movement after deciding on the best alternative to be used without restriction of travel or motor difficulties. The repetition allows the automatism which saves psychic and motor energy promoting less stress in task performance.
Tasks at Industry
These arguments apply to the operation of the industry despite being more complex tasks, involving processes, machines and automated systems. Another important aspect is when the risk of accidents or occupational disease may be higher if the industry in relation to society (some would argue that city life is more risky than in industry).
Considering that stress is a result of excessive spending of psychic energy, it is incorrect to say that the more you use the memory, the greater the anxiety, the greater the doubt, and the greater the likely stress. The physical factors also increase the level of stress, so it would not be incorrect to say that the higher the temperature the greater the noise, the higher the toxicity action of the product (occupational) over the worker, the greater the stress.
Stress Model and Management
The conceptual model of stress indicates that there is an optimum range of stress level to keep the effectiveness of the task within the economic and social usefulness. The good manager can manage the stress level of your team in the various activities of operational control to not go down "the hill" by the high stress effectively. Another concern of the management team is to understand that in situations of low stress, the level of technical downtime can have negative installed low efficacy in the task. You can then classify dangerous people as those that alter their behavior to dangerous forms of work when they suffer high stress by psychological factors, thus altering the effectiveness of the task. These trends higher for people with stress may adopt postures even more dangerous when they suffer physical or environmental stress, or even when they are in dangerous situations.
The stress of the physical and psychological constructs a state of fatigue which, together with discrepancies between individual and organizational values (the conflict between politics and business management practices) change the level of commitment and application of knowledge about the task. The manager then has to establish guidelines to keep the team with stabilized stress.
This paper proposes a mental model that changes from routine to emergency repositioning the group and human behavior.
PLG Industry Case Assessment
A case of the LPG industry is built where it is considered a projection of behavior with the gradual increase of stress over the team of operators and the effects on mental model to decide on the task. The stress is gradually adding departing from usual activities in installed working memory, routine activities who need auxiliary memory, operational research activities, management of emergency situations, and the level of maximum stress, the sinister.
