Abstract:The immersion method was applied to prepare CuO/SiO2 catalyst which was used in the synthesis of 3,3-dimethybutyraldehyde via catalytic dehydrogenation of 3,3-dimethy-1-butanol.The effects of reaction temperature, space velocity, copper oxide loading on the dehydragenation was investigated. The results showed that the optimal reaction conditions were as follows:250°C of reaction temperature,0.19h-1 of space velocity,12.7% of copper oxide loading.Under above conditons, the 3,3-dimethy-1-butanol conversion reaches 65.73% and the 3,3-dimethybutyraldehyde selectivity reaches 98.56%.The catalyst retains the activity during 2h.But subsequently the catalyst activity sharp declines. As a result, the effects of the addition of Mg,K,Cr,Mn,Ni,Zn,Ce oxide on the stability of the catalyst was investigated. The results showed that ZnO promoter can inhibit the reduction and sintering of CuO which result in the slow decline of the catalyst activity.
