The presence of turbulence promoters in an electrolytic cell can increase the intensity of local turbulence and hence the mass transfer coefficient at the transfer surface. Limiting current data are obtained using diffusion- controlled cathodic reduction of ferricyanide ion at the microelectrodes fixed on the electrode support in an electrolytic cell in the presence of a rotating single twisted tape promoter. The mass transfer coefficient is increased with increases in rotational speed, tape width, tape pitch of the promoter and flow rate of the electrolyte. The correlation developed is
