The high concentration caustic sludge wastewater of component complexity, serious pollution and poor biodegradability of catalytic gasoline in petroleum refinery was studied adopting the pretreatment of desulfurization, acidification and oxidation-coagulation of hydrogen peroxide-ferrous sulfate(H202-FeS04,Fenton reagent). The experiment results showed that the degree of contamination of caustic sludge wastewater was debased greatly by the method. The chemical oxygen demand (CODcr),sulfide, phenol and chromaticity in caustic sludge wastewater reached 86.88%A99.54%A98.10% and 97.14% respectively and biodegradability was improved noticeably,B/C was increased to 0.51 from 0.24 when oxidized and coagulated the wastewater after desulfurization 48 hours in 60 minutes by using Fenton and controlling pH=6`7. Thus the pollution load of follow-up biological treatment system was relieved effectually on caustic sludge wastewater.
