Abstract
Acidizing is one of the most important techniques used in oil industry in order to enhance the reservoirs and increase oil production. There are three types of acidizing techniques which are matrix acid stimulation, acid fracturing, and acid tunneling. In this paper a comparison these types of acidizing is discussed. The case study of RA-0007 acid tunneling completed in Kuwait Oil Company is presented. It represents the first dendritic with extensive worm holes created by acid tunneling for maximum reservoir contact. The whole effect is aptly demonstrated by the change in PI of the well before and after the acid tunneling as mentioned before. Analysis of the well designed and implemented job showed that two tunnels were created successfully in MA-C formation through a two days rig-less operation. The results indicated an improvement in the well productivity index (PI) which had been increased from 1.3 to 3.87 bpd/Psi.
