Design and implementation of traditional advanced process control and optimization strategies for ethylene complexes have involved real-time computers with multi-variable applications interfaced to DCS.  Such projects often take 12-18 months before tangible benefits are realized.  SmartProcess® applications with embedded APC technology allow the implementation of strategies that achieve significant benefits in 4 months or less.
