Reducing fouling and corrosion risks and improve reliability while transiting to mixed Feed operations in Ethylene Plant.

        

Abstract:

Due to current economic situation in feedstock for Olefin Plants, most plants are opting to process mixed feedstock’s to bring out maximum benefits.  With this change in feed type, newer reliability issues are reported in various operation sections of the Olefins  Plant.

There is need to review and modify the existing chemical treatments to overcome these operational difficulties and increase plant reliability.

 Proactive Monitoring helps to identify and better manage to ensure no subsequent hindrances occur in such cases to overcome the associated problems. This paper will emphasize the problem prone areas and newer chemical treatment options available to reduce the risk of fouling or corrosion and improve reliability by extending the runlength of the plant with relevant case studies as experienced globally. This paper will also discuss the approach and benefits with the best in class additives that it provides to olefin producers.
