Best Practices in Pilot Plants

Piping for pilot plants is very different from process plants with significantly varied requirements. This paper will discuss some of the best practices for the most common types of piping and tubing used on pilot plants. It will highlight the most common best practices and give guidelines on the ways to maximize the effectiveness of whatever system is used. Topics to be discussed include piping versus tubing, compression fittings, vacuum fittings, thread pipe, flanges, and specialty piping. In addition the presentation will discuss mounting, maintenance and training along with some related topics.
