Inline imaging systems are capable of viewing and digitally analyzing Hydrates , waxes and sand in crude oils that are flowing in pipelines at pressure through 10,00 psi and temperatures up through 300 deg C. The technology relies on lens that are made of fused glass which provides a high speed image that detects and quantifies the size ,shape, concentration and color of the suspended components in a crude oil stream. This allows for research and testing in addition to inline measurement and control to assure proper flow.
