Management of Change Indicators

Management of change is an elementary pillar of o robust Process Safety Management Program once it aims to assure that all changes in installations, technology, work process and organization are performed in a controlled and structured way so that the risk to people, environment and assets are kept inside the company risk tolerance criteria. Basic Petrochemical Unit of South Brazil site have implemented the Braskem MOC Corporate Procedure in 2011, focusing in the extension of the existing process to new dimensions (such as technology and people changes) and in the use of electronic MOC process. Since then our site faced another important aspect that come together with the MOC implementation itself: the importance of having a reliable way to evaluate MOC effectiveness

In this paper it will be presented the work involved in the selection of MOC indicators that support to track process safety performance, considering best practices, insurance recommendations and our own experience. Besides that it will be shown our approach to guarantee that all changes are managed by a central group or a Guardian of the MOC process. It will also be discussed the main difficulties and our strategy related to the implementation of People Management of Change.
