Process and process support equipment must function as designed each and every time to prevent loss of containment leading to fires, explosions and toxic releases. Contributors to a successful MI program go well beyond the inspection department to include engineering, operations, and production. The goal for every MI program should be a safer more reliable plant. The Process Plant Safety Symposium session on Mechanical Integrity is soliciting papers on all elements of MI programs, including risk based inspection, evaluating successes, and anticipating hidden effects from process changes such as temperature, pressure, and phase or process stream compositions.
