Fundamentals of Project Management
Monday, March 31, 2014 - 2:50pm to 3:30pm
“Beyond the critical fundamentals of communication, working with people, setting good objectives, and the importance of good planning, there are some other topics that are important for project managers to consider. Some of these topics are managing risks, managing conflicts, dealing with contracts, managing meetings, situational leadership, taking control of yourself, and so on. This presentation will briefly talk about many of these aspects—each one is really a major topic by itself, but we will give some key helpful hints about some things you should consider as you begin working on project teams, become a new project manager, or perhaps brush up on things to consider even as an experienced project manager. This paper will be helpful to all of these people. We’ll give some important rules of effective project management, some key ideas about managing conflict, and some basics on managing risk, and hopefully aid you in your path toward effective project management!”
