(47cd) Process Safety Culture Applied in Latin America Oil and Gas Industry: Experiences in Ecopetrol Colombia

In some installations of oil and gas industry a wide range of risks and hazards are likely to come up together, since there is usually a space shortage. Additionally the complexity of processes has been increased dramatically in petroleum and petrochemical industry, especially in Latin American oil and gas installations. Therefore, there must be a continuous effort to implement strategies that optimize the preventive treatment when hazards like space shortage and process complexity combined by a lack of discipline all mixed with a irresponsible cost reduction policies. This paper will show experiences in Colombia, focused in ECOPETROL improvement in that way.
