Sustainability has been one of the most catching words today. One cannot just look at some of the face-value of the processes when examining sustainability The environmental impact of bioenergy is two-faced, each of which are causes of controversies. Production of bioenergy could incur more wastes than the processing of fusil energy, and utilization of bioenergy could produce more green house gases than utilization of fusil derived energy. One can also observe that due to the use of fusil energy, there could be more trees or green coverage of landmass. The latter is observable based on the level of the development of a country. A discussion will be led to examine why these phenomena are observed and what implications are when we transition to a renewable society.
