Oil refineries use atmospheric and vaccuum distillation columns to separate crude oil, which comprises components with widely different boiling points, into useful fractions. Effective column design and operation is fundamental to the performance of the refinery. This session seeks to share good practice and highlight areas of future concern, particularly as crude slates change as new sources become available.
