Development of Unconventional Oil & Gas Resources

This session is looking for papers that focus on emerging energy sources and the role the next generation of chemical engineers and chemical engineering technology will have in the area of Sustainable Development of Unconventional Oil & Gas Resources. Topics may include, but are not limited to: development of unconventional hydrocarbon resources such as tight oil and gas, shale oil and gas, tar sands, deep water oil and gas, product-interchangeability, public policy, technical developments in extraction methods, conversion of biological sources to traditional fuels, life cycle issues, and efficiency improvements. Related areas, such as air quality, water and other resource management and environmental/societal concerns, are also welcome.
