The crude oils being bought by refineries today introduce new difficulties in desalting those crude oils. This presentation will address some of the problems, discuss historical methods and offer some relatively new suggestions and methods by which the desalter operation can be adjusted to reduce fouling and corrosion of not only the Crude oil Distillation Unit, but also downstream units product specs.
