Tutorials in Process Safety - LPS I
Tuesday, April 12, 2016 - 2:30pm to 3:00pm
This tutorial emphasizes the technical understanding of combustible dust phenomena. It will enable attendees to better understand combustible dust hazards, measure and compare combustible dust behavior, recognize potential serious events, and then implement effective barriers to tragedy. It will prove helpful to experienced engineers, safety supervisors, and operating managers who are committed to safe workplaces.
The tutorial logically builds on:
- understanding fundamental concepts,
- learning from well-documented dust explosions,
- recognizing factors that influence severity of an event,
- examining effective risk recognition and hazard mitigation techniques,
- surveying applicable codes and standards, and recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEP)
