(192e) C2 Front-End Hydrogenation Improvements

Authors

Coenen, P., Shell Global Solutions
The presentation will address the parameters influencing selectivity and the impact over time.
A side-by-side comparison of 5+ year operating data of the Shell/CRI’ C2 Front-End catalysts in both gas and liquid crackers gave new insides in excelling performance.  The difference between the latest generations of catalyst looking at the key performance parameters for ethylene producers will be addressed. The selectivity comparison between the modeling (predicted selectivity) and the 5+ year real plant data (achieved selectivity) will be compared.
A business case demonstrates the value (margin gain) which has been achieved by reference plant which upgraded to the latest generation catalyst will be explained.
