Young Engineers, commonly referred to as the Millennial generation, have the world at their fingertips. As the Millennials begin to further integrate into the engineering community, it becomes more important to work with them not against them. This session includes a short presentation about the characteristics of the Millennial generation and their current impact to the chemical industry. It will then lead into a discussion with a variety of panelists to share thoughts and questions on the topic. Panelists include: Noah Meeks, Freeman Self, Zenaida Gephardt, and Syamal Poddar. Types of topics to be addressed are listed below. Come participate in the open discussion, great for all generations and functions of Engineers! Foster the conversation of Millennials in the workforce: including discussing the stigma of the word and perception of the generation. Create a sense of network within the Millennials (more than just YPC) Learn how to work with Millennials and what they really want from their company. Gain an understanding of what companies want from Millennials. Recognize the importance of Millennials within their groups, companies, corporate entities, and professional societies. Provide a forum for all generations to connect with Millennials and learn from each other.
