Cold safety considerations are a key issue for all ethylene producers. Prior industry presentations on low temperature safety have illustrated the wide diversity in safety risk management practices in this area, and there is a strong need for all producers to be as effective as possible when dealing with this critical, endemic issue. A Low Temperature Safety EPC sub-committee was formed to better understand key industry low temperature safety management elements. We will summarize the committeeâs understanding of these key elements concerning low temperature safety methodologies and implementation. We will also review specific elements regarding monitoring, training and stewardship while summarizing approaches to risk analysis and equipment considerations. In the end, this summary will further enhance industry low temperature safety element understanding and application.
