Existing biomass gasification systems used for transportation are bulky, slow to start, and not much more efficient than traditional gasoline engines. Grassoline utilizes a small, efficient, and rapid-heating process to generate carbon-neutral electrical power for onboard applications. The design includes a packed-bed gasification reactor, a solid oxide fuel cell, and systems for fuel handling and electrical processing. The performance of a 1:18 scale model of the system is simulated in Aspen Plus.
