A brief overview of research within the Process Intensification Group at Newcastle University (UK) will be given. This will encompass some generalities about process intensification, and brief descriptions of key novel process technologies and their applications at Newcastle. Currently the main focii of research are: oscillatory baffled reactors, rotating packed beds, spinning disc reactors, non-thermal plasma processing and heat pipe technology.
