Intensification of Processes yielding Renewable Bio-Products: Theory - Experiments - Field Applications

The historical journey of Process Intensification is first reviewed, and placed in context of prior research activities. Then the potential role of Process Intensification and the AICHE RAPID Institute in the development of novel processes for the creation of Renewable Bio-Products will be outlined. Emphasis will be given to a wide array of theory tools that can be brought to bear for the synthesis of novel processes yielding renewable bio-products, experiments that can be used for the validation of these theory tools, and the practical development of proposed new technologies, and a number of field applications that can serve as demonstration vehicles for the proposed technologies.
