(168b) A Look inside a Chemical Plant Waste Water Treatment Unit

Authors

There are a wide variety of pieces of equipment that compose waste water treatment inside of chemical plants. In this presentation, I will discuss the process flow of the waste water treatment plant for the Syngenta St. Gabriel chemical plant to help young engineers understand the complexities of such a system and the current commercially available systems we use to treat waste water to meet government regulations. We have a pre-treatment step, carbon adsorption, and then a biological unit that help to treat the water before it can be sent out to the Mississippi River.
