This tutorial will review the design fundamentals for quench systems for gas cracking ethylene plants. It will include discussion of the overall system design basis and considerations, and specific procedures and particulars regarding the design of major equipment such as the Quench Water Tower, the Quench Water Separator and the Quench Water Circulation loop.
