AIChE Spring Meeting and Global Congress on Process Safety
2018
2018 Spring Meeting and 14th Global Congress on Process Safety
Global Congress on Process Safety
GCPS Poster Session
Monday, April 23, 2018 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm
The presentation will outline the efforts Chevron Upstream has taken over the past decade to improve performance on Asset Integrity. The presentation will focus on two aspects of the Asset Integrity Program. The first will be the methodology to determine the scope of the Asset Integrity Program and the most important equipment to focus on. The second will be the governance process to cover variations. Chevron Upstream developed an Asset Integrity process to define expected minimum requirements and implementation is in progress. The Asset Integrity Process went beyond the classical mechanical integrity programs and covered all equipment types and equipment layers of protection. This included both the preventive and mitigative layers of protection using the classic bow tie techniques and leveraging existing process hazard analysis studies. The paper will outline the comprehensive Asset Integrity requirements including both the underlying principles and execution specifics; explain the status on the journey to full implementation and results to date; and, explore the learnings to date.
