The course is available in two modalities: traditional and transmitted classes as webinars, providing a complete and aligned training with the state of the art in the area. The whole course is composed of 18 modules, and it has as technical reference the four pillars and twenty elements of Risk Based Process Safety management system proposed by the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS). The modules are: . This program also outlines the importance of Human Reliability and Performance Influencing Factors for improving Process Safety. Students are encouraged to identify how project and process must be managed at different stages of installation life cycle. Additionally, students have classes about entrepreneurship on process safety, where they can learn Strategies for Business Sustainability; Dynamic Model for Assessing the Conditions of Process Safety Barriers; Development of Research and Study Centers; and others. Thereby, it is possible to say that the course provides a complete and aligned training with the most up-to-date techniques in the area.
Only two years after implementation, the post-graduation course has 64 enrolled students, covering 17 different graduation courses, mainly Engineers. Another relevant fact is that 43 companies are involved in the specialization of these professionals, a variety of 16 industrial sectors. The main sectors affected in improving process safety practices in Brazil through the post-graduation course are Chemistry and Petrochemical, which represents 42% of the studentâs workplace. Of the total companies already mentioned, 17% are members of the CCPS, multinational companies of great importance in the global scenario of Chemical Process Safety, such as DOW, Monsanto and Cristal.
The First Post-Graduate Group is committed with Process Safety. They already contributed for improving and enhancing Process Safety Knowledge through the development of a Tridimensional Training Matrix on Process Safety Applied for Chemical and Petrochemical companies. This study was published on the 13th CCPS Global Congress. Therefore, this postgraduate course aims to train professionals for the implementation and continuous improvement of the Process Safety Culture and Risk Management.
