Abstractâ Physical condition of free flowing Calcium Ammonium nitrate (CAN) prill fertilizer (26N) changes due to presence of Ammonium nitrate under conditions. Cake formation is the basic phenomenon takes place as Ammonium nitrate changes its crystals shape due to thermal effects. Change in physical condition of this prill fertilizer causes indirect availability of basic nutrients to crops. Also, handling and shipment of this product becomes extensive. Hence, these factors pinch the business sustainability and economics. Experimental trials were conducted for improvement in production process and selection of suitable additives to get good quality of CAN (26N) prill product. CAN prill conditioning techniques were also modified to improve the shelf life of CAN (26N) prill. Upon change in physical condition of CAN (26N) fertilizer from free flowing prill to hard cake form, it was also crushed and proper shape was separated from powder shape to re-evaluate the change in physical condition.
