Process Safety Behavior Dialog focused in Operational Discipline and culture development
The objective is to develop and improve the prrocess safety culture and Risk Management in the Organization, through the evaluation of Behavior and Operational Discipline in Process Safety, seeking to share concepts and information regarding loss prevention as well how to recognize preventive behaviors that reinforce interdependent culture. When appropriate, awareness of behavioral deviations, their potential consequences in order to avoid recurrence and potential personal, environmental or material losses.

In addition to the educational role, the evaluation of Behavior and Operational Discipline in Process Safety also demonstrates the commitment of all: leaders, members and partners with the issues of Process Safety, Perception and Risk Management.
All Observers that operate / operate the process area will be trained in DO-SEPRO (Operational Discipline of Process Safety) in order to:
• Appropriately approach people during Behavioral Dialogues;
• Perform a self-assessment / self-analysis / self-audit, identifying possible deviation in self, before performing an activity or decision;
• Prepare to interact with other members and partners in order to contribute to the constant practice of preventive behaviors in the company, strengthening the prevention culture.
The behavioral dialogue tool is based on dialogues between the performers / operational routine and the observers (focal point), where observers evaluate how the work / operational routine is being performed on prevention issues in SEPRO.

Identifying some deviation, the observer begins to dialogue with the observed, seeking to identify the behavioral deviations and correct them immediately and in a way to avoid loss, thus exercising an educative attitude and explicitly demonstrating their commitment to the issues of SEPRO.

Behavioral dialogue should also be carried out to reinforce the positive and preventive actions identified.

As a consequence of the implementation of this tool, the company improves its performance in:
• Reduction of potential and actual process safety losses;
• Contribution to the improvement of knowledge in SEPRO by the leaders;
• Contribution to the development of a culture focused on loss prevention;
• Contribution to increase knowledge about the risks associated with activities and processes

This methodology is a great opportunity to improve the leaders PSM commitment, identify PSM deviations and avoid Process Safety losses.
