Abstract:

HNGL plant is received 1.6 BSCFD of Haradh gas flows into the DGA Gas treating units where CO2 is removed and the produced sweet gas is directed to the NGL recovery units .Hawiyah sales gas is pretreated at HGP for CO2 removal ; hence the produced 2.4 BSCFD flows directly to the NGL units where it is mixed with the Haradh gas. The mixed gas then is processed in the NGL units producing C2+ NGL and sales gas stream. The NGL is pumped to storage spheres and subsequently shipped to NGL piping network through Shedgum Gas Plant. The Residue Gas flows to the sales gas compression area which increase the pressure allowing routing back the gas to the sales gas grid.

The purpose of this project is to install vent line from the two NGL Spheres to Sales Gas (Residue Gas) common header at Hawiyah NGL Plant. The aim of this project is to minimize the continues flaring from the NGL spheres , safe plant resources and protect the environment

Sphere PVs were venting the NGL vapor to the cryogenic burn pit when the pressure of the sphere exceeds 350 psig. In order to lower sphere pressure without losing NGL production, newly installed PVs are set at lower pressure set point of 305 PSIG to recycle the spheres vapors to NGL trains residue gas line, downstream of the brake-compressors..

During summer months July and August (if associated with maximum plant production), spheres are venting about 4.0 MMSCFD of Methane. Based on Methane price of 4.4 $/MMBTU then total saving is 1.05 MM $/year.
