(92b) Laboratory Safety for the Novice Lab Technician

A recent college graduate is faced with significant and new safety concerns when hired to work in a commercial petrochemical testing laboratory. The pace of testing, the potency of reagents, and the breadth of equipment is often a dramatic shift from the campus “O-Chem Lab” she experienced while pursuing her degree. In this talk, we will discuss laboratory best practices and how the onboarding process for a new hire can establish a culture of safety within the lab.
