To characterize the fluidization of cohesive particles in the fluidized bed, particle motions distribution along the axial direction was investigated by acoustic emission detection. Results showed that the energy of acoustic emission signals increased rapidly at minimum fluidization gas velocity. This phenomenon provided a new direction of cohesive particle fluidization characterizing in fluidized bed. Meanwhile, the wavelet analysis results showed that the particle-wall interaction changed at minimum fluidization gas velocity, which regarded as the reason of the change of acoustic energy. When particles fluidized, particle-wall interaction transformed from friction dominated to collision dominated. The transformation of particle motion type indirect characterized the change of fluidization behavior of cohesive particles, which may be further applicate in cohesive particle fluidized bed characterizing.
