In this study, the effect of horizontal internals on the hydrodynamics in a gas-solid fast fluidized bed has been investigated at the bench-scale dry-sorbent CO2 capture process which consists of a fast fluidized-bed type sorption reactor and a bubbling fluidized-bed type regeneration reactor. In order to investigate the hydrodynamics as well as visual confirm of solid flow in a gas-solid fast fluidized bed with horizontal internals such as heat transfer tubes, a lower part of the sorption reactor has been made of acrylic plexiglass plates. The hydrodynamics were analyzed by changing the solid inlet port into the lower part of the sorption reactor to two or three heights. Based on the experiments, the fast fluidized-bed type sorption reactor in the 10 MWe-scale dry-sorbent CO2 capture has been designed.
