The core point for gas solids flow through parallel paths is to ensure the stability of desirable gas solids distribution, especially when each path is non-identical. In this study, a framework for studying the effect of non-identity on the stability of gas solids distribution is established. After introduce of a parameter, i.e. δ = (Cd2 â Cd1)/Cd2, reflecting of deviation from identity, the criterion, based on the concavity of total pressure drop surface, for detecting instability of gas-solid distribution through parallel system with non-identical paths is developed. Moreover, experimental studies are also carried out to verify the theoretical analysis.
