Recent advances in computing make possible the rapid screening, prediction and design of particle shapes optimized for a variety of properties and behaviors. In this talk we present new results on particle packings and assemblies and show how dense and crowded structures depend upon features in "shape space". We provide guidelines and new approaches to particle shape design with photonics, pharmaceutical, biomedical, energy, packaging, cryptography, and many other potential applications.
