ME15 Meeting Guide

This guide will continue to be updated regularly. Last edited 6/9/23

Oral Presentations

Please check the Technical Program for your scheduled presentation time - speaking slots are anywhere from 5-30 minutes, without Q&A, and some sessions are followed by panel discussions. Presentations should be in PowerPoint or PDF format. To ensure optimal time management, consistency, and high-quality presentations, we request that all speakers submit their presentations in advance and use the designated conference computer to display their slides.

Download the ME15 PPT Template – optional, but available to use for your presentation

Oral Presentation Best Practices

  • ME15 aims to provide presenters with an opportunity to deliver engaging and concise presentations on their research. Our goal is to foster the exchange of ideas and promote learning and engagement among all participants. To achieve this, we kindly request that presenters prioritize the most significant and impactful aspects of their research and communicate their message in a clear and concise manner.
  • The presentation slots do not include time for a question-and-answer period. Conference participants will have the opportunity to submit their questions online during the presentations. To facilitate further discussion and exchange of ideas, the session chairs will moderate a panel discussion at the end of each session, where presenters can respond to the questions and engage in a conversation with the audience.

Oral Presentation logistics:

  1. Venues: All technical sessions will be held in the Orchid Main Ballroom at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
  2. A/V: A PC computer, projector, screen, podium, and microphone will be available in the meeting room.
  3. The projector aspect ratio will be 16:9.
  4. To ensure optimal time management, consistency, and high-quality presentations, we request that all speakers submit their presentations in advance and use the designated conference computer to display their slides. This will help us ensure that all presentations run smoothly and transition seamlessly between speakers. Additionally, using the conference computer minimizes the risk of technical difficulties and compatibility issues.
  5. The session chair or moderator will introduce each speaker and cue up their pre-loaded slides, then provide visual/verbal cues to indicate when 3/1/0 minutes remain. Speakers may use the supplied laser pointer and slide advancer.
