Current Issues and Opportunities in Refining
Friday, October 2, 2009 - 4:00pm to 4:30pm
The production of transportation fuels presents challenges and opportunities for oil refiners to maximize gasoline and diesel production while operating under various regulatory mandates. The challenges for producing fuels and to remain solvent and profitable are further driven by a need to work with uncertain market forces with respect to crude and synthetic oil availability, crude oil prices and consumers drive to reduce their transportation costs. Discussions would cover oil supply, technologies for increasing the production of gasoline and diesel, added technologies to meet environmental regulations and some expected refining processing options to for increased use of biofuels.
