Improving packed towers performance: Severe service grid & Random packing


FLEXIGRID® severe service grid has been used extensively in challenging applications such as vacuum tower wash beds, FCC main fractionators and ethylene quench towers. In these applications there is a continuous push for more capacity, improved fouling resistance and improved droplet removal. This led to the development of the PROFLUX® severe service grid. The PROFLUX® grid delivers capacities comparable to that of structured packing, good droplet removal, and better fouling resistance than conventional grid products. During this presentation experimental data on this new product will be shared.INTALOX® ULTRA™ random packing was introduced to the market as a packing with a combination of efficiency and capacity that exceeds that of existing random packing product lines. The packing performance was verified in testing at F.R.I. INTALOX® ULTRA™ random packing has been installed in a large number of light hydrocarbon fractionators in gas fields. Data from industrial case studies will be presented.
